Mojo Returning

Been a tad slack on the blog front, And now it's Christmas time! Where did this year go???
On the quilting front, my mojo has been severely lacking. Around a month ago it wained. So I filled my time with x stitch instead, but that wasn't cutting it either. So I fumbled around in quilting limbo, which sucked! I just didn't want to stitch anything I had or was working on. So I decided to try something different and make my own blocks. And low and behold it worked! Fingers crossed it will stay and not retreat again.
So, here are the blocks I've been working on and I'm calling the quilt " Charmed ".
The blocks are 4 1/2" finished.  Such a pleasure to work on individual blocks.

These are the first 6.

With sashing and two more for the pot.

And the latest blocks I've been working on.

I figure some pieced blocks will be nice, but mainly want applique blocks in the quilt.

I've also done a bit more on Natures journey SAL, only one border left to go!

And some more on my Brinton hall, had to change background, only cut it wrong twice, lol!!

And some more blocks on my sundial sampler.

The sundial is slow going, but it will get there eventually. Beautiful quilt to work on too.

And that's it from me, better scoot and get some housework done!
Till next time,
Keep it stitchy ;))

Brinton Hall Update

Just a real quickie update.
Am about to start sewing the hexies to the backing fabric tonight. Took me a really long time to pick the background. I looked at all obvious choices, teal, blue, even purple, but it wasn't to be. I settled on this quirky brown Tanya Whelan Polka Dot. I'm very happy with it. It adds whimsy and when is that ever a bad thing? ;))
I'll leave you with a few pics. Would be excited to hear what you all think about my choice....

Til next time Gals,

I'm back!

Im back for a quick hello and catchup.

My daughter has been very sick, since January with an as yet undiagnosed illness that has all the hallmarks of Lyme. Still waiting on the very expensive test results. So that's why I have been quiet. I've literally had no time to scratch me bum!

But anyhow, Im able to snatch a few mins here and there now, as she seems to be doing a bit better, so here I Am, back for one hell of a Show and Tell :))

This is just about everything I have been up to since I last posted.

The Anni Downs Natures Journey SAL.

All that's left now are the borders for this baby!

Gail Pans, Merry Xmas Garden BOM.
Round 3...... Lol
This is the 3rd time I've changed fabrics and started this again.
I'm liking it a lot better now. It's better not to ask.....hehehe

I have all the appliqué completed for block 2 now just to piece it altogether and onto block 3!

Karen Cunninghmas Sundial Sampler has been getting some attention also.

Only a few more blocks left for the centre Square. This is such a special quilt.

And a new addition thanks to Karen from http://faeriesandfibres.blogspot.com.au
The Brinton Hall quilt by Leigh Latimore from Quiltmania107 and 108.
I Ran like a Fool into this one ;)

These are the last hexies left to go around the centre panel. Then I can appliqué the whole centrepiece to the background fabric and move on to the second and final instalment.
This quilt is just gorgeous and there was no way on earth I could say no ;)

And who can resist baskets?
I started making these and just intend to keep making them as the opportunity arises, and in a few years, hopefully.....I will have a quilt out of it.

And that's it folks, that's what I've been up to, and enjoying every minute of it.
Hope you all are stitching and keeping busy.
Till next time,
Kel. X

SAL and Gossip in the Garden

I finished Febs blocks for the 2015 SAL, which is Anni Downs pattern Natures Journey.

I've also been working on Gossip in the Garden, also by Anni Downs, and I have to say I LOVE IT !
It's so much fun and sooooo many pretty fabrics to work with. That alone has kept me motivated.
I'm happy to say I've finished all of the applique blocks and am now working each day to join them to their pieced blocks, ready for final assembly. If all goes well I hope to have it finished in a few weeks!
( fingers, legs and toes crossed )

I've also been making more Hexie flowers for Stonefields, which I Hope to have ready to sew the final borders on in a few weeks too. ;0)

Boy, do I have some work Ahead of me!
Till next time,
Keep it stitchy Ladies.
