It's been a very busy month for me, lots of quilts and 3 teenagers, need I say more!
I have been working on the Mountmellick bom by Di Ford. I have completed the first month of the bom and began appliqueing all the circles for the next round.
After seeing the quilts from the Mountmellick Facebook group, and being sufficiently inspired, I decided to make a version in my own colour way as well. It's going well and I love the colours, more feminine I think than the original fabrics. Well more pinks, and I'm a pink Girl, it's my favourite colour.
And I have to confess..........
I caved in completely and started Rotherfield Greys by Di Ford also.
I'm a glutton for punishment ;)
Just trying to figure out the final position for the roses.
I'm an official HexaHolic.... Especially the little ones. ;0)
I finished another block of the appliqué sampler called Folk Art Pleasure by Lori Smith and prepped another CWB block.
The Benjamin Biggs is coming along nicely as well.
Block 1
Block 2
Block 3
And to top it off I added another POTC block to the pot.
And that's what I've been up to this month!
Till next time.
Keep on stitching,
Kel x

Wow, so productive! Love all,of your blocks and your own version of Mountmellic.
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely work. I especially like your version of BB and the broderie perse fabric in your version of Mountmellick.
ReplyDeleteDo love your little hexagons and your BB is going to be such a soft and pretty quilt :)
ReplyDeleteKel - WOW - your work is fantastic and I've wanted to try some broderie perse for a while -- I guess NOW is the time ? I have Di's "Simply Quilts" book -- and drool over it regularly. Thanks for the inspiration! Karen
ReplyDeleteObviously you do not sleep or eat or any of the other mundane day to day things the rest of us mere mortals have to do, but you do do a lot of really beautiful work!!! I am in awe of the number of large projects that you have on the go at one time and I thought I was bad. I am also doing Mountmellick, Sarah Morell, Love Entwined and will soon be starting Lucy Boston and probably Rotherfield Greys now that I have seen Di's original (to die for!!!) Well done and keep up the good work
ReplyDeleteWow! You have been busy! Love your Di Ford centre blocks, I have only just received my fabrics a couple of days ago so hope to get started very soon. Your BB blocks are really pretty, I have stayed with the traditional red and green but my backgrounds are mixed shirtings. All your projects are lovely, your fabrics are soft and warm. I am in awe of quilters like you who take on projects like Lucy Boston! All that EPP! Can't wait to see your next instalment in your very productive quilty life!!
ReplyDeleteYou have been so wonderfully productive this past month!
ReplyDeleteAll of your projects are gorgeous.
Wonderful to see your color choices for Ben Biggs, very unique and lovely!
